We just got back from a wonderful week at Pine Grove. It was sooooo hot. 100's or so everyday. Devin has become quite a swimmer and loved the pool this year (even the cold pool). He was unisheated in the cold pool by being pushed in for the 1st time. He pushed in Scott with Scott knowing and then his buddy George got him good by surprise. He wasn't to happy but got over it. We all thought it was great. They never got off the big raft except to hit the slide and diving board. We also snuck into the pool area at night for the first time to take a dip in the cold pool to cool off. They caught us which made it fun. Devin went fishing in the creek. He first tried to trap crawdads with Grady but they got nothin. Then Mr. Bill took him to a spot he calls the honey hole. Mr. Bill bought him his own pole and they had 2 fish in about 5 min. Devin was elated and wanted to catch his limit but they caught on to him and that was it. He is dreaming of his next big fishing day in the pine grove creek. Speaking of the creek we did a lot of walking in it. Devin says that the creek is his favorite place on Cobb mountain. My parents finally were able to walk the whole creak and make it to the bridge because the water is so low this year and that was fun. We picked and ate fresh berries and took a great mile walk to the store and Devin joined us. I was planning to walk to the store and back 15 times but not in that heat so one trip did the job. Barry called bingo one night and there were no winners from our cabin but fun was had by all. We played a few cut through games of old maid and toasted marshmallows till we were sick. That's what we call fun in our family. One of the highlights of the trip was when I was woken up by a loud noise on our deck. I was freaking out then we saw that there were 4 raccoons snooping around. They were really cute till they hissed at Scott. Devin was so disappointed that he slept through it. We waited for them every night after that but they never came back (that we know of). I played my WORST game of golf in my whole life but had fun. We had two lovely dinner invites. One was to what I consider the prettiest house ever. It is like being in a tree house. Total Cobb Mountain Martha Stewart. We had wonderful meals and cocktails every night. It is always soooooo sad to come home. There are always tears. It was time to celebrate Scott's mom's Birthday and we wanted to be sure that his Dad was feeling better so home we headed.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
